I have 2 Nikon Black FX1000 6-24x50 Mil and they are incredible. The glass clarity is very close to my Leupold VX-3 6.5-20x50 when both are on 20x power at low light. The turrets have a zero stop and return to zero function with set screws, not the lift up mechanism some scope utilize. Excellent box test.
143. Texas. Dec 5, 2021. #4. Nikon had several lines, likely from different OEMs. Looking specifically at the Buckmasters, the scope body does look identical. But it's the fact that Sig is using the old Nikon line name that made me even compare to start with. G.
Sep 12, 2019. #1. We just received this update from Nikon: From Nikon: We wanted to make you aware of a change that will take place regarding Nikon Inc.’s Sport Optics product warranty program. Review of the Nikon M-223 1-4x scope with Point Blank Reticle. By Les (Jim) Fischer (BigJimFish on AR15.com and SnipersHide) July 2, 2012 I was a bit surprised when Nikon decided to send me this M-223 along with the Premier 8x20mm binoculars I had asked to review. I did a Shot show report on...
258. 0. Los Angeles, California, CA. Jun 16, 2011. #17. Re: Bushnell vs Nikon. I purchased a Bushnell Elite 10x (not the 4200, so not a direct comparison) and the glass paled in comparison to my Buckmaster. We put up a Schnell eye sight test to compare a Bushnell Elite 10x, a Buckmaster 4.5-16x and a Monarch 2.5-10x.
Given that Nikon is presently out of the scope business these days I’ve heard they are providing Nikon store vouchers for any scopes they are not able to repair or replace. I have a Nikon Black FX 1000 4-16x50 illuminated model that is giving me fits trying to zero.
However, it is very different to stop branding scopes than to stop making them as you have no factories to re-purpose, close, or otherwise deal with. It is very easy to stop branding scopes just as it is very easy to start doing so. This explains some things on the Black FX1000 6-24x50 I was reviewing.
Gman, Check out Nikon's BDC Reticle Scopes. Perfect for whatever you are going to shoot. I have a Buckmaster 4.5-14x40 BDC on my Winchester Model 70 Coyote in .243. I use this with 55 grain screamers for predators and 90 grainers for Texas deer. With the BDC reticle and Nikon's Spot On Ballistic Program I can customize the BDC to my specific ammo.
Re: Nikon Monarch vs Vortex Viper I have several Nikon scopes from old 2-7, 5-16x and the newer 4-16x models. Never have I had any issues with breakage or tracking. I have been using a 1-4x P223 and crank the hell out of it with no problems at all. Today I shot a steel shoot from 50-200yds with my Ruger 10/22 and a Nikon Monarch 4-16x42 Mildot.
Re: NIkon Vs Vortex. In this case, I think that the Nikon would be a better choice. For starters, as you mentioned, their Spot-On program is available. The higher grade Vortex scopes are awesome and in another class altogther, but in this category, the Nikon ProStaff wins out and its glass should prove slightly better.
