Glens Falls left the Empire Football League for the 1997 season to play in the New York Amateur Football League but returned the following season in 1998. The Glens Falls Greenjackets won the North Atlantic Conference (AA), their first in program history in the NEFL, by beating the Middleboro Cobras 12-6 in overtime.
