The Saint Mary's University Students' Association (SMUSA) is the official representation of the students of Saint Mary's University. The association was incorporated in 1966, however, unofficially has represented students for many years previous. The Association main offices are located on the top floor of the student centre at the heart of campus.
Saint Mary's University was the host venue for the championship tournament four times: in 1965, 1976, 1977, and 1978. The tournament was hosted in Halifax again for 24 consecutive years, first at Dalhousie University from 1984 to 1987 and then at the Halifax Metro Centre from 1988– 2007 .

The Loyola Residence Tower (also known as the Ignatius Loyola Residence) in Halifax, Canada is a residence of Saint Mary's University completed in 1971. It is located on the main campus with a height of 67 metres accommodating up to 434 students on 22 floors.
The Saint Mary's Huskies football team represents Saint Mary's University in Halifax, Nova Scotia in the sport of Canadian football in U Sports.The Huskies have been the most successful in the Atlantic University Sport (AUS) conference of U Sports football, reaching the Vanier Cup championship game nine times and winning three times (1973, 2001, 2002), both marks being the highest in the AUS.
