Spur 33 was designated on September 26, 1939, from SH 289 to Frisco as a replacement of SH 24 Spur. The initial description of the route included a connection back to SH 289. [2] On February 28, 2019, Spur 33 was removed from the highway system and returned to the city of Frisco. The road is now named Gary Burns Drive. [62].
