Etchmiadzin Cathedral [a] (Armenian: Էջմիածնի մայր տաճար, romanized: Ēǰmiaçni mayr tač̣ar) is the mother church of the Armenian Apostolic Church, located in the city dually known as Etchmiadzin (Ejmiatsin) and Vagharshapat, Armenia.
The building was renovated so the Armenian rite liturgy could be celebrated. The Armenian style altar was created by Fathers Raphael and Dajad Yardemian. St. Gregory the Illuminator parish was established in 1998 and Minassian left Our Lady Queen of Martyrs. The old church was torn down to make way for a new church.
