In December 2005, prominent Hobart developer Ali Sultan proposed a four star, 60-room hotel/motel for the airport. [29] The hotel, named the Quality Hotel Hobart Airport, was opened on 1 December 2008. The hotel comprises 78 rooms, a restaurant/café and a number of conference and meeting spaces.
