Certain spells are different and require a saving throw for the monster. For this you need two different things. You need the caster's spell save DC (this is listed in the far right column of the starter character sheets or in the monster's state block). The target(s) must then roll a saving throw and add the appropriate modifier (usually dex).
This tool works by looking at the stats entered for a certain monster and comparing them to the average values in the table for a monster of the same CR, calculating a ratio for each one. The tool then looks at the average stat values for a monster of the CR you want to scale it to and multiplies them by that ratio.
Stat Blocks for Every Class At Every Tier. This is just something that I find I wish I had on a semi-regular basis: a resource for picking out an NPC that behaves like a reasonably optimized PC in combat, without having to actually operate a whole damn character sheet. There are lots of cheats going on here, and not everything fits all of the ...
There's some Monster cards and Form fillable pdf's you can use to input the info, then print out on sheets of 3x3. They have a front and a back and are very simple to use (much like using pdf form fillable character sheets). Although the cards themselves were made by Reddit user Sitrane, I did the forms, so I'm sure he wouldn't mind me sharing ...

The bonuses to hit and damage compute as expected based on his strength (+4), proficiency (+4), and bonus from the Longsword (+1). He also has a trait in his statblock that reads: Special Equipment.
It isn't perfect but it captures the feel of a MM stat block without requiring a program or image embedding. Obviously, the template is a conglomeration of many different abilities, but I wanted to provide the syntax/formatting for all the major components that could be in a block. 'Creature' is in red to make it obvious to change to the actual ...
Clippy as a monster should have a gaze attack and be a shapeshifter so it can change forms to the other Microsoft Office Assistants, like that dog or the wizard. Reply reply More replies
Note that this is an optional tool. You still manually set the CR of your monster. :) Spellcasting: Easily create class-based lists or innate spellcasting lists. SRD spells are provided, and custom spells can be added as-needed. Templates: Grab actions, traits, or attacks from other monsters and slap them on your stat block.
The Monster Manual, under Skeletons (p. 272), contains a stock-standard humanoid skeleton, a minotaur skeleton, and a warhorse skeleton. None of these creatures quite fit the skeleton 'template' provided in the NPC Features table. And this is not too surprising, as the NPC Features table is intended for adjusting the NPC stat blocks in Appendix ...
