Ross S. Sterling High School is a public high school located in Baytown, Texas and classified as a 6A school by the UIL. Sterling is a part of the Goose Creek Consolidated Independent School District which covers southeastern Harris County and eastern Chambers County. The school was built in 1966 to accommodate the growing population of Baytown.
Donovan Forbes was a three-sport star athlete at Baytown Sterling where he made all-District in football, basketball and baseball. He was voted to the 1985 Texas High School All-Star team by the Texas High School Coaches Association and was ranked as one of the top ten quarterback recruits in the South. [1]

SOC's girls' basketball team has won four state championships: 1977, 1978, 1980, and 1985. Gary Blair helped start the girls' basketball team in 1973. In his 7 seasons as coach, Blair's teams won 3 state championships, lost the 1979 championship game by 2 points, and compiled an overall record of 239-18.
