Roanoke Township is located in Woodford County, Illinois at T27N, R1W. As of the 2010 census, its population was 2,558 and it contained 1,044 housing units. [ 2 ] Roanoke Township includes within its boundaries the village of Roanoke, Illinois .
The library's overall collection grew under Lee's leadership, and by the late 1930s a new building was being negotiated with the city. [2] Roanoke City Council eventually opted to issue a $20,000 bond for the construction of a new library in Gainsboro, while one was issued for $150,000 in the same year towards a library for its white citizens. [2]

On July 31, 2021, the new Linda Sokol Francis Brookfield Library opened across the street at 3541 Park Avenue. The original Carnegie library site currently serves as the Library's parking lot and Pollinator Garden.
