Carver's position between navigable sections of the Minnesota River, as well as Carver and Spring Creeks, was an ideal location for a steamboat and barge terminal for transferring cargo. In 1854, Jorgenson sold his claim to the Carver Land Company, a group of seven speculators, who planned to plat and develop a town.
As of the census [1] of 2000, there were 367 people, 121 households, and 97 families residing in the township. The population density was 20.7 people per square mile (8.0/km 2).

Dahlgren Township is a rural township in Carver County, Minnesota, United States. The township's economy is based on commercial agriculture around dairying, livestock and cash grain farming. [3] The population was 854 as of the 2020 census. [4]
As of the census [1] of 2000, there were 939 people, 307 households, and 249 families residing in the township. The population density was 27.6 inhabitants per square mile (10.7/km 2).
As a result of continuing growth in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area, Chaska Township was annexed by the city of Chaska.The township dissolved on February 11, 2005. [4] Current plans call for 600 acres (2.4 km 2) of the former township, about half of the annexed land, to be developed in a project called "Heights of Chaska".
