    147. December 26, 2005. #10. Posted November 13, 2006. We fled the cold Montreal winter last march and the Veendam took us to Costa Maya. The weather was marvelous, - low 80's - and our tour with David and Ivan more than worth the money. They provided cold bottled water and it was very welcome as we walked the ruins.

  5. Costa Maya vs. Progresso - Carnival Cruise Lines - Cruise Critic

    boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2336851-costa-maya-vs-progresso

Costa Maya has a nice resort like shopping area with a beach and pool right at the pier or you can take a short taxi ride to the nearby beach. Both are enjoyable. Progresso is a significant bus ride to get anywhere. There are a few shops on the pier then it is a couple of miles of causeway to get from the pier to the shore.

  6. Which is better for itinerary? Belize City or Puerto Costa Maya

    boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2502208-which-is-better-for-itinerary-belize...

Costa Maya, we do an all inclusive Maya Chan. It was a taxi ride by the coast outside of touristy area. We don't drink alcohol at all or do "beach" but we can tear up some diet cokes, cookie smoothies, and their INCREDIBLE guac and taco lunch. I believe their may be a long bus trip to ruins. I don't disagree with anyone recommending Chacchoben from Costa Maya.

  8. Golf cart rentals - Costa Maya - Cruise Critic Community

    boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2923858-golf-cart-rentals

crewsweeper. You can rent golf carts at the pier parking lot. Waste of money, IMO. You have to drive 5 km to the malecon where the beach clubs/bars are and can't drive on the malecon. Some people rent them to drive to the lighthouse then down the street closest to the malecon and maybe just past there.

Taxi from outside port gate, can take you to whatever club you want. If just going to walk the malecon, ask to go to the Lighthouse or Blue Kay.

September 22, 2002. Michigan, USA. #1. Posted December 14, 2016. AFAIK, there is only one pier in Costa Maya. RCI had us arriving in Costa Maya, but I just checked our itinerary and it said there was a change. The only change listed was the name of the stop went to "Puerto Costa Maya". I don't think that's any different, but thought I would ...
