Katrina Elizabeth Leskanich (/ l ɛ ˈ s k ɑː n ɪ tʃ / lesk-AH-nitch; [2] born April 10, 1960) is an American musician and the former lead singer of the British pop rock band Katrina and the Waves.
A more direct ancestor of Katrina and the Waves was the band Mama's Cookin', a pop cover band from Feltwell. This band, founded in 1978, featured American Katrina Leskanich on vocals and keyboards, and fellow American, Vince de la Cruz on vocals and lead guitar.
