The Bluefaced Leicester is a British breed of longwool sheep.It evolved in the eighteenth century from a breeding scheme of Robert Bakewell of Dishley in Leicestershire.At first it was known as the Dishley Leicester, and later – because of the prevalence of the breed in Northumberland – the Hexham Leicester; the modern name dates from the early twentieth century.
