The United States Post Office in downtown Racine, Wisconsin is a post office operated by the United States Postal Service. It is located at 603 Main Street, in a classical revival -style building designed by the Office of the Supervising Architect under James A. Wetmore , [ 2 ] and completed in July 1931.
A post office named Winneoka was established there in 1874 at the farm of Bernard Brown, who also sold small supplies. Before that, both mail and supplies had been hauled from Greenwood and Chippewa Falls. [6]: 651 In 1880 the Wisconsin Central Railroad built the line through Withee connecting Abbotsford to Chippewa Falls.

When the post office relocated in 1980, the City of Madison moved its offices into the building and renamed it the Madison Municipal Building; the district court also relocated later in the 1980s. [2] The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on November 27, 2002. [1]
