I see previously in 2010 it was agreed series should be either italicized or left as is (based on whether the series name is official or something like that). Yet, this edit in 2011 changes series to quotation marks (with exception for italicization), with the edit summary pointing to another section in which the answer was to quote series.
With regard to words that shouldn't be italicized (CMS lists the examples of croissant, banh mi, pasha, Weltanschauung, [2] kaiser, obscure, recherché, bourgeoisie, telenovela, anime, eros, agape, and mise en scène), they all follow this criterion well. However, some words that should be italicized also fit this criterion.
That's something to italicize, because it's still a publication. "It depends" -> No, it basically doesn't. If you are citing it for the fact it has published something of interested, then it is de facto a publication and should accordingly be italicized (much as SMC says below). --Izno 18:27, 18 May 2019 (UTC)
