The Kellogg Evening News had been published since 1886, and the North Idaho Press had been published since 1896. The News-Press' original office in Uptown Kellogg was destroyed on the morning of Thursday, Sept. 24, 2010, after being burned down by an arsonist. [1]

A ruling by Justice Norman Buck awarded O.O. Peck and Dr. J.T. Cooper of Murray, Idaho, a quarter interest in the Bunker Hill claim, since those two provided the ore-discovering jackass as a grubstake to Noah Kellogg. Noah Kellogg subsequently leased the claim to Jim Wardner, who went on to found the town of Wardner, Idaho on 4 April 1886. [3]

In 2008, the Statesman entered into a strategic partnership with the Idaho Press to print the newspaper in Nampa, fifteen miles (25 km) west of Boise. This partnership allowed the Statesman to reduce expenses amidst declining revenues. A decade later in 2018, printing moved to the Times-News in Twin Falls, [4] 120 miles (190 km) southeast of Boise.
