Ayobo (also known as Igbo Ilogbo-Ayobo) is a suburb in Alimosho local government area of Lagos State, south-western Nigeria. [1] Anchor University, Lagos is located there. [2] Ayobo is the last town in Lagos bordering Aiyetiro, Ogun State. Ayobo is a town with about 10 sub-towns under it.
Lagos state is made up of five administrative divisions, namely, Ikorodu, Ikeja, Epe, Badagry, and Lagos Island, with Ikeja being the Capital. The five divisions consist of a total of 20 Local Government Areas and 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs). [1] [2] [3]
Alimosho is a Local Government Area in Lagos State, Nigeria with the largest population of about 4,082,900 which is according to Population [2019] – Projection [1] The 2006 Census says the population was 1,288,714 (but the Lagos State Government argued that the population as at 2006 within the LGA was more than 2 million residents).
The boundary of the ancient Agege stretched from Isheri in the Northern part of Lagos, Ejigbo/Ewu through Idimu covering Mosan/Ayobo and bordering Itele Otta District while covering Ikola, Meiran in the southern and eastern part respectively and parting Agbado and borderline Abeokuta district in the western part and as shown in Lagos district map of 1842.

[40] Lagos served the dual role of being the State and Federal Capital until 1976 when the capital of the state was moved to Ikeja. [40]
