In 1999, Ford introduced the DOHC 4-valve 5.4 L in the Lincoln Navigator under the InTech moniker, making it the second engine to use this name. It appeared as a running change on late-production 2004 Mustangs starting on October 7, 2003, then was replaced by the 4.0 L SOHC Ford Cologne V6 when the Mustang was redesigned for 2005. The 2010 Mustang GT added a more powerful version of the 4.6 L V8 seen in 2005–2009 Mustang GTs. The Mustang GT's revised V8 produced 315 bhp (235 kW) at 6000 rpm and 325 lb⋅ft (441 N⋅m) of torque at 4250 rpm. The 5-speed manual and automatic transmissions offered with the updated V8 continued unchanged from before.
