The measurements for the width and length of the profile are pretty close. The main difference I noticed is in the wall for the safety. The 80% has even thickness and a slight relief for the takedown on location. The 5D has a different profile near the safety and a straight pocket for the takedown area.
The standard blueprints are kind of annoying to use, so I made a cheat sheet for doing 80 percenters. Just remember that the numbers are based on a receiver measuring .900" thick at the FCG; you need to find center on yours, then move over .450" and set zero for Y axis. Also be aware that the coordinates are calibrated for the specific cutter ...
Another feature unique to the 80 Percent Arms jig are the built in depth gauges in the opposite pocket template. This allows someone to very accurately set the depth without expensive gauges or a DRO. The trigger pocket has two levels that it needs to be milled to – 1.249” and 0.630” so there’s two templates.

Is the 80 percent arms end mill bit worth it for the 5d Tactical Jig, Gen 2? The reason I ask is I bought the full .308/AR-15 Jig gen 2 and didn't notice that it did NOT include the end mill bit for the router this one:
Both of the above jigs are on sale right now. Is the modulus arms jig truly universal as advertised? Is this jib compatible with tactical machining 80% lowers? They have some of the cheapest anodized lowers I can find at $43. The 80 percent arms jig is proprietary and can only be used with their lowers which are billet and around $99 each.
In the absence of a Preliminary Injunction, 80 Percent Arms could have been forced to shut down business operations. Simple fix, just go to 79% receivers./lowers. 5D tactical is also selling jigs again and Tactical Machining is selling lowers again. Delta Team Tactical is selling P80 80% frames.
Which 80% .308 lower is most compatible with Aero uppers (fit/aesthetics), and which is the most versatile? I'm leaning toward Aero, but I'd like to keep my options open. These all have a broached magwell: 80 Percent Arms: Popular, well-established brand (maker of Easy Jig 2, etc.). Billet 6061 aluminum, $119.99 each anodized or $109.99 raw ...
TNVV/NG/PVS-14-GP – U.S. Gen3 Filmed Green Phosphor! $2599. [ARCHIVED THREAD] - 80 Percent Arms.com ( Easy Jig ) Good or Bad? ARCHIVED. Posted: 9/15/2014 7:39:23 PM EST. I am looking at the 80pertcentarms.com Easy Jig using a cheap router instead of using a real big Mill machine.
In theory it is a good idea, but in practice the polymer will be thinner around the top of the receiver to accomodate the size of the brass insert. The stresses are still there, they just moved to where there is less polymer material retaining the brass insert. Polymer80 lowers are fun to build and easy to do without a lot of specialized tools.
