Fryeburg is a town in Oxford County, Maine, United States. The population was 3,369 at the 2020 census. [3] Fryeburg is home to Fryeburg Academy, a semi-private preparatory school, and the International Musical Arts Institute. The town is also site of the Fryeburg Fair, which each October attracts approximately 300,000 visitors.
The farm has been in the hands of the Weston family for many generations, and is one of the largest agricultural operations in Fryeburg. The centerpiece of the complex, on the south side of River Street, is a Second Empire house built 1870–73, and believed to be designed by Portland architect Frances H. Fassett .
SR 5 runs concurrently with US 202 for a short distance to East Waterboro. Between Waterboro and Cornish, SR 5 is known as the Sokokis Trail. North of Cornish, the highway follows the Saco River, crossing it at Hiram, to the town of Fryeburg. SR 5 continues north through Lovell to Bethel, where it intersects US 2.
