  2. New to Sanderson, where to start? : r/brandonsanderson - Reddit

WindRunnerSqiure. •. As most will probably tell you, start with Mistborn Era 1 and then the cosmere will be your oyster. The Stormlight Archive is the Crem de la Crem of the Cosmere but not always the best place to begin with Brandon but if you're a big GRRM fan like I was it'll scratch that itch in a lot of ways.

I would recommend you start with the first Mistborn trilogy, but if you want to read some of his best work without committing to a big series, you can try "The Emperor's Soul" Novella. It's excellent, it showcases a lot of Sanderson's strengths as a writer, and it won a Hugo award. Reply reply. sirgog.

This standalone novel is widely considered a fantastic and very approachable book to start with. The only caveat: the narration and fairy-tale tone are not a good representation of typical Cosmere books. Brandon's Recommendations. Sanderson's personally recommended starting points as of early 2024, including Cosmere works and (alternatively ...

Yes. But since it hasn't been written yet, the timeline is not canon for that yet. Regardless of what happens to the Aether books itself, Aethers are still canon in the cosmere as a piece shows up atleast once in Stormlight. But it should still exist some day.

Romance isn’t one of the strong suits of Brandon’s books. They do tend to focus on the connection between people and their trials but romance isn’t delved into like a novel of the romance genre. It’s because the “romance” part is just treated like a every day part of life. Warbreaker is kinda a weird one where, from a synopsis it ...

Excellent Tier. #6: The Way of Kings (Stormlight #1): Admittedly, this book has a lot of dull parts. I think that's because of the heavy worldbuilding, which takes a while to sink in. I had to kind of push myself through a lot of the chapters focusing on the war itself.

Mistborn gives a good insight to what his books are like without being too heavy a read. As an added bonus the first book in the series can be read by itself without reading the rest of the series. It does a good job giving you a complete story and it serves as a good taste of what Sanderson books are like. If you enjoyed it then carry on.

  10. Why opinions on Brandon Sanderson's books seem to be so divisive?

    www.reddit.com/.../1cikrp1/why_opinions_on_brandon_sandersons_books_seem_to

this is it, 100%. divisive opinions stem entirely from his popularity; the more often an author’s mentioned the more responses we get and it’s kind of a self-perpetuating cycle of both popularity but, more relevant, posts discussing and comments about his work. the resulting crap-ton of posts discussing his works can get aggravating for ...
