Terry Ray Gordy Sr. [3] (April 23, 1961 – July 16, 2001) was an American professional wrestler from Soddy-Daisy, TN. Gordy appeared in the United States with promotions such as Mid-South Wrestling, Georgia Championship Wrestling, World Class Championship Wrestling, Jim Crockett Promotions/World Championship Wrestling and the Universal Wrestling Federation as a member of The Fabulous Freebirds.
The first version of Executioners was founded by Executioner #1, who was a masked wrestler, wrestling for World Wide Wrestling Federation. In 1976 he trained Executioner #2, and the two became a tag team in WWWF. Together, the Executioners captured the WWWF Tag Team Championship on May 11, 1976 by defeating Louis Cerdan and Tony Parisi.
He appeared on Piper's Pit on the December 22 episode of Championship Wrestling and was now managed by Bobby Heenan. On the February 26, 1985, edition of Prime Time Wrestling he was defeated by Barry Windham. He was later put under a mask as "The Executioner", losing to Tito Santana in the opening match of the inaugural WrestleMania.
