Methodist Fremont Health is a public district hospital located in Fremont, Nebraska and the only hospital located in Dodge County. [1] The hospital is an affiliate of the Nebraska Methodist Health System. The hospital opened in 1940 as the Dodge County Hospital. In 1945, the hospital changed its name to the Dodge County Community Hospital.
The original Methodist Episcopal Hospital, located at 20th and Harney Streets, was opened on March 3, 1891. Operated by the Methodist Episcopal Church, the hospital opened at 3612 Cuming Street in 1908, with a capacity to treat 2,000 patients per year. The hospital moved to 84th and West Dodge Road in 1968. [5]
