Cave In is an American rock band that formed in 1995 in Methuen, Massachusetts. The band's lineup solidified with the 1998 release of Until Your Heart Stops through Hydra Head Records , and their early albums were prominent in the metalcore scene.
Cave In reformed in 2009 and continued releasing material. Their first new release was the EP Planets of Old which was originally made available at their reunion show. [ 8 ] In 2010, Cave In started releasing albums in their Anomalies project consisting of previously unreleased or rare songs.
Heavy Pendulum is the seventh studio album by American rock band Cave In, released on May 20, 2022, through Relapse Records. [10] This is the band's first album with bassist/backing vocalist Nate Newton, though late bassist/vocalist Caleb Scofield still has a presence on the record.
The label eventually agreed to release Cave In in 2004 and allow them full ownership to their new demos. This led to Cave In's full re-signing with Hydra Head and the release of Perfect Pitch Black in 2005. [14] Since their departure from RCA, members of Cave In have reflected largely negatively on their experience with a major label.
Despite being the band's second full-length release, Until Your Heart Stops represents the first time Cave In went into a studio to record a full album together. The album also marks the first time they would play as a four-piece, as it was recorded in the midst of a major line-up change, going through two vocalists and one bassist.
