Jackson, MS USA. For the record, I'm 2" to 3" shorter than the OP and I am happy with the Puig Touring Windscreen on my 2022 GSA; great improvement over OEM at highway speeds (in high position), and plenty of airflow at low position. I use it in low position most of the time and raise it to high for 60 MPH +.
Works great in reducing wind on chest and head - much quieter than the stock GSA screen. The larger screen and greater pressure means I must slow down prior to adjusting the height, but's that no issue - I run it either full up or full down, depending on the type of riding I'm doing. #10. jbuggyus likes this.
I bought my ‘23 R1250 GS as a pavement only tourer, having moved from a ‘19 Honda Gold Wing DCT Tour. While the GS’s OEM tall (non-sport) windscreen was good, providing smooth, non-turbulent wind, I wanted to reduce the wind blast. I got the Puig recommended for GS multiadjustable deflector (Ref. 6375W, clear), but realized when I ...
needles Adventurer Supporter. I've got the low R1250 GS and looking to replace the stock windscreen with something that is less buffet-y. I'm 5'9 and about 220lbs. I'm shorter-legged and longer torso'd for my height with a 29" inseam. With all the vendors and designs, I'm wondering if there is standard guidance for how to find the right screen.
So I mounted the Puig Touring Windscreen to the 890. The 890 Puig screen is just a bit narrower than the GSA screen. With the 890 in the high position the top of the screen is the same height as the GSA in its highest position (about nose level at my 6'4" height). In the low position, about chin level.
I'm 6'-2" as well, and recently installed the Puig Touring Windscreen. I previously was using the stock screen with Puig clip on spoiler. I thought the Puig windscreen would give me the same effect as the clip-on because both configurations were the same height. I was wrong, and I put the stock screen back on (with spoiler).
May 18, 2014. Oddometer: 2,551. Location: Mountain View, CA. The Moto Guzzi V85TT is an excellent machine -- a noble pinnacle of design, engineering, and shaft drive -- but the OEM windscreen cannot be numbered among humanity's great acheivements. This has led to any amount of experimentation with alternatives.
Removed the OEM windscreen, two bolts each side. Removed the rubber grommets on the OEM windscreen and attached to the Puig screen. Installed the brackets in the grommets. This is where the issues begin. The holes do not seem to line up perfectly. I found the Puig holes to be too far outboard of the OEM attach points.
I decided to get little bit taller and wider windscreen for protection. I searched a lot and top extension type is not my choice I'd rather swap whole screen. But I don't want too tall that I have to see front through windscreen. So Vstream z2487 , Wunderlich ergo Touring , PUIG screen is seems about my choice.
For anyone with the S windscreen looking for more wind protection the Puig clip-on works pretty decent. The wind noise reduction is pretty noticeable on the highway, could hear the engine and some tire noise now. I bought the 250mm x 100mm model 6320H. View attachment 4816045
