Weis Earth Science Museum (abbreviated as WESM), located at 1478 Midway Rd, on the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh, Fox Cities Campus in Menasha, Wisconsin, USA, was opened in 2002. It focuses on Wisconsin geology and its mining history.
It is located on 41 acres (17 ha) in Menasha, Wisconsin. Prior to its merger with the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh in July 2018, the campus was a member of the University of Wisconsin Colleges. As of 2022, the campus enrolls 605 students, making it the second-largest of the UW branch campuses. [2]
European settlement in the 1800s led to the development of Menasha as a transportation hub and later a center for paper production and wooden ware products. [9] [10] Today, Menasha is home to the Barlow Planetarium and the Weis Earth Science Museum on the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh, Fox Cities Campus.
