The Hong Kong Archaeological Society (Chinese: 香港考古學會) is a government-funded organization dedicated to carrying out excavations and preserving archaeological heritage in Hong Kong. Sha Po Old Village is a place of archaeological interest. A complete hard geometric pot was unearthed in Sha Po Old Village by the Hong Kong Archaeological Society in 1970. In 2001, a house structure with underground water system dated to Song dynasty were discovered in Mong Tseng Wai by the Hong Kong Archaeological Society. It was the only Song dynasty village site in Hong Kong. Mong Tseng Wai was founded by the Tang Clan of Kam Tin during the Ming dynasty. [2]
