The Haywood Community College Arboretum is a 120 acres (49 ha) arboretum located across the campus of Haywood Community College. It is open daily without charge. The arboretum was laid out by Asheville landscape architect Doan Ogden for industrialist A. L. Freedlander, who donated the college's initial funding provided that the site's oak forest be preserved.
Pisgah has a strong vocational department which includes several courses offered through Haywood Community College, HCC for short. Through HCC's Dual Enrollment Program, students are allowed to take college courses as a part of their course loads at Pisgah for free. Many students take advantage of this opportunity to earn college credit.

The town also has Haywood Early College High School which is located on Haywood Community College's campus. Elementary Schools are Clyde Elementary and Junaluska Elementary. Students attend middle school at Canton Middle School then move to Pisgah High School. Clyde is also home to Haywood county’s alternative school central Haywood high school.
