St Lawrence's Convent Girls' School is a private Catholic primary and secondary school for girls located in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. Founded by the Sister of the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary in 1936 as a co-educational school, the school is now part of the Archdiocese of Karachi .
It then shifted in June 1919 to a large building which stands today at the corner of Haji Abdullah Haroon and Inverarity Roads. This building was known as Mama Mansion. [1] [2] Construction of the present building called The Mama Parsi Girls' High School was started on 17 January 1920 and completed on 26 January 1925. [1]
The School started on 7 July 1959 (11th Zilqad) with four blocks of buildings, named Ahmed House, Ghulam Ali House, Dawood House and Sharif House. The first administrator of the School was the late Mr. Yousuf Qasim. School started with only 41 students and now approximately has 2000 students. Habib Public School is the realisation of a dream.
St Patrick's High School is a Catholic primary and secondary school located in Saddar Town, Sindh, Karachi, Pakistan. Founded by the Jesuits in 1861, the school is the second-oldest school in Karachi. [1] Since 1950, it has been run by the diocesan clergy of the Archdiocese of Karachi. [1]
Colonel Henry W. Preedy founded the school in 1854 as Free School. [2] The school was nationalized by the Pakistani government in 1971. [1] In 2010, Pir Mazhar-ul-Haq, the Minister of Education of Sindh, ordered restoration of the three original blocks of the school, unused, after seeing them in a poor physical condition.
The school was founded in 1952 as Karachi American Society School with funding from the U.S. Government. [1] [2] Formerly, it was known as the International School of Karachi. [3] It is considered an elite school of Karachi. [4] [5] In August 2017, the school expanded its offerings and founded a college called Karachi American College. [1]
