Félix Alexander Bautista (born June 20, 1995), nicknamed "The Mountain", [1] [2] is a Dominican professional baseball pitcher for the Baltimore Orioles of Major League Baseball (MLB). He was signed by the Miami Marlins as an international free agent in 2012.
He pitched for seven years in the New York Mets system before being selected by the Baltimore Orioles in the December 1987 Rule 5 draft. He joined the Orioles rotation in 1988, spending four years with them before moving to the Chicago Cubs (1993–94), San Francisco Giants (1995–96), Detroit Tigers (1997), and St. Louis Cardinals (1997). After the 2003 season, the Baltimore Orioles selected Bautista in the Rule 5 draft and carried him on their Opening Day roster. He made his MLB debut with Baltimore on April 4, 2004. [12] After playing 16 games with the Orioles, the Tampa Bay Devil Rays claimed him off waivers on June 3. [13]
