Triprangode Siva Temple is a Hindu temple located at Triprangode, near Tirur, Malappuram district, Kerala. This ancient temple is situated 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) west of Tirunavaya railway station and 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) south of Tirur railway station. It is one of the most important Hindu pilgrimage centres in northern Kerala.

The Tirur railway station, opened in 1861, is the oldest railway station in Kerala. The first railway service in Kerala was on 1861 March 12 and it serviced from Beypore to Tirur for 30.5 km. First Railway service in erstwhile Travancore was started on 1904 November 26. It was Kollam-Sengottai Metre-gauge railway.
Cheranad was a name of an erstwhile province in the kingdom of Zamorin of Calicut, which had included parts of present-day Tirurangadi and Tirur Taluks of Malappuram district in it. [4] Later it became a Taluk of Malabar District, when Malabar came under the British Raj. [4] [5] The headquarters of Cheranad Taluk was the town of Tirurangadi.

The district of Malappuram was formed with four subdistricts (Eranad, Perinthalmanna, Tirur, and Ponnani), four towns, fourteen developmental blocks, and 95 Gram panchayats at the time.
