Cleveland Independent School District is a public school district based in Cleveland, Texas . Within Liberty County , in addition to the majority of Cleveland in that county, the district serves the cities of North Cleveland and Plum Grove , [ 1 ] as well as the Colony Ridge development. [ 2 ]
It is the only high school part of the Tarkington Independent School District. [5] It is attended by students residing in communities of Tarkington, Ainsworth, Rayburn, and Macedonia, and other portions of Liberty County. [6] Students compete in UIL Region 3A. [7] In 2022, the school received a "B" rating from the Texas Education Agency. [8]
Tarkington High School (Class 4A; Grades 9-12) In a nod to two Texas universities, the mascot is the Longhorn (the mascot of the University of Texas) and the school colors are maroon, white, and Vegas gold.
