Moody is a city located in St. Clair County, Alabama. The city was founded in 1907, and it was named after a local businessman named Epps Moody. The population was 13,170 at the 2020 census. It is located about 22 miles (35 km) east of Birmingham.
The community was later annexed into the city of Moody. A post office was established at Acmar in 1911, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1987. [ 4 ] Acmar is a conjoin of the names Acton and Margaret [ 5 ] AFICO also operated mines at both of these locations.
