The graphical style of the game has also been toned down, retaining the anime look. The RPG mode (now called Master Mode) is heavily expanded, now featuring a more action-oriented gameplay and explore the massive world of Naruto (unlike the previous games which had a more sandbox-style gameplay). This is the last Naruto game features English dub.

Naruto: Rise of a Ninja consists of two major gameplay modes: The first is a 3D action-adventure mode that takes place from the beginning of the series to the end of the Invasion of Konoha arc (episodes 1-80 of the anime) where you explore the environment, and do predominantly platforming and racing based tasks to earn money for upgrades and progress the story.
The game was first released in North America on November 4, 2008, in Europe, on November 7, 2008, and in Australia on November 20, 2008. The Japanese version of the game was released on January 15, 2009 under the name of Naruto: Narutimate Storm (NARUTO－ナルト－ナルティメットストーム, Naruto: Narutimetto Sutōmu).
