Studio Ponoc (株式会社スタジオポノック, Kabushiki-gaisha Sutajio Ponokku) is a Japanese animation studio based in Musashino, Tokyo, Japan. The company was founded in April 2015 by Yoshiaki Nishimura , former lead film producer of Studio Ghibli .
The studio was founded in South Kōenji, Tokyo in October 2017 by Tamotsu Kosano, serving a subsidiary of Japanese mass media corporation Geek Pictures, before moving to Nakano, Tokyo in February 2020.
In 1988 Tatarsky, Kovalyov, Anatoly Prokhorov and Igor Gelashvili founded the Moscow animation studio Pilot, the first private, independent film studio in the Soviet Union aimed at adult-themed comedy movies. Tatarsky took the role of artistic director which he kept till his death. Most films created at the studio received festival awards.
