Cedar County is a county located in the southwest portion of the U.S. state of Missouri.As of the 2020 census, the population was 14,188. [1] Its county seat is Stockton. [2] The county was founded February 14, 1845, and named after Cedar Creek, a tributary of the Sac River, which in turn is named from the Eastern red cedar, a common tree of the area.
Route 82 is a highway in southwest Missouri. Its eastern terminus is at Route 83 in northwest Hickory County; its western terminus is at U.S. Route 54 in El Dorado Springs. From 1922 to about 1927, Route 82 west of Osceola was part of Route 26, which ran from the Kansas state line east to Osceola.
Here, it also passes by the Nevada Municipal Airport. Moving eastward, the route continues through El Dorado Springs, Collins, Weaubleau, and Wheatland, the latter is home of the Lucas Oil Speedway. It passes through Hermitage and Preston, where it intersects with US 65 at a four-way stop.
