It was established in temporary wartime barracks at Wellingdon Camp, Club Road, New Delhi, near the present residence of the Prime Minister, on 18 July 1955 to educate children of officers and airmen of the Indian Air Force. [1] In May 1967, the school moved to its Aravali Campus location on the Aravali ridge in Subroto Park, Delhi Cantonment.
