In April 2008, Gaynor was inducted into the Alderson Broaddus College Hall of Fame. He was the second football player to be inducted into the Hall of Fame at Alderson Broaddus College. In February 2009 Gaynor was honored by Camperdown High School at the Camperdown Classic Track Meet.
