Diablo 4 just broke its all time steam player count, in the middle of a season. Opinions & Discussions. Sure, there is an event going on right now which gives an exp and gold boost, but an arpg beating its peak CCU in on a new season launch in pretty good news, but to beat it 1 month into a season is near unprecedented, even if there is an event.

Steam player counts are the most misleading/inaccurate count for online games unless steam is the sole platform for the game AND it isn’t cross play with consoles. Also I play on steam along with my other friends who did, they uninstalled it on steam and reinstalled it on xbox app once the campaign dropped because gamepass.

I assume it does but I just want to confirm in case I'm wrong. Steamcharts / Steam DB don't do the count themselves, they get the data directly from Steam via the Web API, and yes Steam counts all players accross all regions.

Just something I noticed on Steam Charts, you can see the game peaked at it's highest on launch day before dropping to an average of around 35-36k peaks after about two weeks. Since that point, about five months ago, the player count peaks have stayed consistently around the same average. 339K subscribers in the Competitiveoverwatch community.
