functioning with 9mm +P ammunition, a steady diet of +P ammunition will shorten the endurance life of the RUGER®LC9TM. You should never shoot 9mm +P+ammunition in your RUGER®LC9TM. There are no SAAMI or CIP pressure limits on 9mm +P+and use of this ammunition could result in serious injury. Do not use “+P+” ammunition. Right out of the ...
I would buy a few boxes of any of the following: Speer Gold Dot, Winchester PDX1, Winchester Ranget-T, Federal HST, or any other popular round. Just test them to see what functions perfectly and use them. You don't have to use +P to find a good load in 9mm, but I would recommend 124g or 147g.
The European CIP standards rate a 9mm cartridge with a max chamber pressure of 34k psi, SAAMI standards rate a 9mm Luger at 35k psi. SAAMI 9mm +P rating is 38.5k psi. So …. if you buy European made 9mm ammo (ie S&B, Prvi, etc) don't expect it to be as powerful as normal US made ammo.
The question isn’t whether the Ruger LCP could handle a single “+P” round, it’s whether it can handle a magazine full of “+P” rounds. If you’re planning to carry “+P” ammunition for self-defense, you better hope the pistol can handle at least one full magazine without blowing apart. Better yet, two full magazines.
The RUGER® LCP® II pistols are chambered for the 380 Auto cartridge. Do not attempt to load any other cartridges into the magazine or chamber of the pistol. Do not use “+P” ammunition. The RUGER® LCP® II pistols are compatible with standard factory ammunition loaded to U.S. Industry Standards, including hollow-point loads
But the LC9 is pretty close, about an inch in each direction. SIG Sauer P938 is slightly smaller than a LC9. The Kimber Solo is really close to the LCP, maybe 1/4 to 1/2" off in each direction. Kahr PM9 is a hair larger than the Solo, but you won't notice. I looked at all of them and ended up with a Ruger SR40c. Yeah, not the same size at all.

The LCP Max is the ONLY gun I have that makes my trigger finger hurt after a range trip. I would recommend you at least try the Sig P365 in 380. The smoothest shooting gun I have ever fired. About the same width, and height as the LCP Max, but about 0.5 in longer. It does cost about $100 more- but absolutely night and day difference.
Is it possible to load 380 ACP into 9mm moon clips and shoot them as a lower recoil option for the LCR 9mm revolver ? The projectile diameter is the same, but I'm just not sure if the 380 ACP brass will fit into the moon clips tight enough because both calibers don't use the same shell plates when reloading.
My taurus is no fail so far, as are the xd's They are 9mm so it is a different thing. Ugly Suckers Motorcycle Club ((USMC) 65-67 RVN 66-67 The only "Gun" I've ever fired was 8" in DIAMETER
