Worn look hide is a traditional predistressed cowhide, novapelle is a brushed matt look cowhide, it's the closest to the Crystal Skull leather they do (I've been told by people who have both Westeds and Nowaks that the leather seems to be the same process). The dryer can be used on low heat for brief periods of time if you want to shrink it down. You have to monitor it closely, especially if you have the satin lining. You can use the dryer on tumble dry with no heat, to help break in the jacket and really soften it up nicely. In both dryer cases, I recommend putting the jacket inside a pillow case ...
Lamb is a soft leather the grade Wested uses is a fine nappa it is designed as a luxury leather really so looks good, drapes softly and is lightweight. It is not particularly strong or puncture resistant. If you want a strong but light(ish) leather look at goat.

Just apply lightly with a soft cloth wherever it needs it or do the whole jacket. But like I said. My Expedition has been through quite a bit of severe weather and the leather is still like new without any treatment of any kind. ALSO: Congatulations on your Jacket. The Expedition is one hell of an Indy Jacket.

Honestly, I would pick up a small bottle of leather lotion at Burlington Coat Factory, Wilson Leather, or some other local store. It will save you money without paying shipping, and will do a nice job adding a light coat of moisture to the hide to prevent drying out.

I think if you were to invest in some fine grit sandpaper and give the surface of the holster a good rubdown (preferably with your revolver inside it, to get the right distressing in the right spots) it would look even better.
