  2. Is Offset Toilet Flange Problematic And Should Be Avoided? Or OK...

    terrylove.com/forums/index.php?threads/is-offset-toilet...

Question: If I use an offset flange (Sioux Chief ABS) will I encounter problems such as in the other thread? If so, how do I avoid problems with the fitting, or should I just try to use it only as an absolute last resort? I guess the bottom line is: Will a toilet with a standard wax ring seal correctly with an offset flange?

  3. Offset toilet flange for 4” cast iron pipe? | Terry Love Plumbing...

    terrylove.com/forums/index.php?threads/offset-toilet...

I’m in the middle of a bathroom remodel and am facing a small dilemma. The existing 4” ID cast iron connector has a busted flange and is 11” from the wall vs the 12” I need for my Woodbridge toilet. I’ve found a few offset adapters but they would raise the toilet about 2” higher which wouldn’t...

  4. How to install a wax ring on a toilet with a offset flange

    terrylove.com/forums/index.php?threads/how-to-install-a...

Toilet Offset Flange 2 Wax Rings I had the same problem as above and tried the same solution as above. In the picture, you can see the result of my first try...the single seal didn't do the job so I plugged all the holes to the right with wax, put on a new wax ring. No leaks...no odors. The toilet is a Toto Eco Drake....I flushed four paper ...

  5. Offset Toilet Flange or Header Joists and Relocate Toilet Drain?

    terrylove.com/forums/index.php?threads/offset-toilet...

I currently have 3 1/4" from the center of the toilet drain (3" ABS) to the joist in question (12" from center to the wall). The way I see it, I can either: 1) shift the toilet drain over 1", and then get an offset toilet flange to make up the last 2", or, 2)I can header the joists and move the toilet drain over the full 3".

  6. Toto Unifit or Flange Offset? - Love Plumbing & Remodel

    terrylove.com/.../toto-unifit-or-flange-offset.36801

The flange offset is a bad idea, Using a 14" Unifit is a good idea. Change plumbers. The Soiree will also work at 5.5". I've sold hundreds of the bowls with the Unifit. One of the easiest trapways to snake there is. It's just like any other toilet when it's installed.

  7. Are Offset Closet Flanges Efficient Or Trouble?

    terrylove.com/forums/index.php?threads/are-offset-closet...

Because the existing horizontal arm is at a slight angle, if I use a ten inch rough-in toilet the offset can be made with a 22-1/2 and a street 22-1/2. No offset flange will be needed. She Who Has More Sense pointed out that the 10" looks better in the small room, too. (Experimenting with the old toilet shows that it does look better.)

  8. Help! Clogged Toilet Drain Line and Offset Flange

    terrylove.com/forums/index.php?threads/help-clogged-toilet...

After removing the toilet and exposing the flange, I filled a 5 gallon bucket and poured water directly down the pipe. The water filled up the drain pipe and didn’t go down for several minutes (the vertical portion of the pipe is approx. 8” deep and then it makes a 90 degree turn to the left).

  9. OVAL offset flange. - Love Plumbing & Remodel

    terrylove.com/forums/index.php?threads/oval-offset-flange...

Bottom line is that instead of this oval/shelf flange, if you need an offset flange because of where your pipe is, there is a better design. If you have the skills, you can chip out the concrete around the old flange, remove it and replace it with an offset flange of the design shown in that thread. The better design, as you can see, gives you ...

  10. What size hole in subfloor for offset flange?

    terrylove.com/forums/index.php?threads/what-size-hole-in...

This was probably enough (the flange is tight in the opening which is great), but I need to do a few mm worth of tuning to get everything lined up with the joist. Then I realized that I would have been better off with a 10" rough in (going that way now anyway — but I could have avoided notching the joist) or a wall toilet, but those exit the ...

  11. Closet flange that fits inside 3" pipe? - Love Plumbing & Remodel

    terrylove.com/forums/index.php?threads/closet-flange-that...

The ring of PVC holes was part of the old flange. You can see the primer along the seam and it has a slightly different color. On a 3" PVC pipe SCH 40 the outside diameter is 3.5" and inside diameter just a hair over 3". Have you brought home a 3" inside flange for a dry fit check? Just google " 3" inside toilet flange".
