Thời sự (literally, 'Current Affairs'; also known as the News) is the main news program produced by the News Department of Vietnam Television (VTV). First broadcast on September 7, 1970, it is one of the oldest and most watched programs in Vietnam.

Da Nang or Danang [nb 1] (Vietnamese: Đà Nẵng, Vietnamese pronunciation: [ɗaː˨˩ n̪a˧˥ˀŋ]) is the fifth-largest city in Vietnam by municipal population. [7] It lies on the coast of the South China Sea of Vietnam at the mouth of the Hàn River, and is one of Vietnam's most important port cities.

The South Vietnamese Army (ARVN) also used Da Nang as a ranger training facility.
