William Kelso Journey (July 19, 1915 - 2002 [1]) was an American politician from Clinton, Missouri, who served in the Missouri Senate and the Missouri House of Representatives. He served as prosecuting attorney of Henry County, Missouri. During World War II, Journey served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 until 1946. [2]
Clinton was incorporated as the least-populous type of city in Missouri, a fourth-class city, in 1878. All but one voter voted in favor of incorporation. Resident Banton G. Boone , a Democrat, was Speaker of the Missouri House of Representatives , 1875–1877, and Missouri Attorney General , 1885–1889.
At the University of Missouri, Knowles was an advocate for equality for women and was the first woman to become a full professor in the College of Education. She was also the first female faculty member in Kappa Delta Pi. [1] Knowles died on January 8, 1990. [1] She is buried at Calvary Episcopal Church Cemetery in Columbia, Missouri. [3]
