Silver Dollar City is a 61-acre (25 ha) theme park in Stone County, Missouri, near the cities of Branson and Branson West. The park is located off of Missouri Route 76 on the Indian Point peninsula of Table Rock Lake. Silver Dollar City opened on May 1, 1960. The park is an 1880s-themed experience.
Table Rock Lake is an artificial lake or reservoir in the Ozarks of southwestern Missouri and northwestern Arkansas in the United States. Designed, built and operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the lake is impounded by Table Rock Dam, which was constructed from 1954 to 1958 on the White River creating the lake.
Located in the Ozark Mountains, Shell Knob was established in 1835 on the banks of the White River when Henry and Elizabeth Yoachum Schell built a trading post. The "c" was left off the name when the post office was established in 1872. The Schells left in 1846 and went on to establish the community of Jacket, Missouri. [5]
