Bruce Beemer (born December 14, 1968) is an American attorney and jurist currently serving as a judge on the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas. He previously served as the attorney general of Pennsylvania [ 1 ] from 2016 to 2017 and as Inspector General of Pennsylvania from 2016 to 2019.
Colville received a Bachelor of Arts from Pennsylvania State University in 1989 and his Juris Doctor from Duquesne University School of Law in 1992. Rob Wyda (March 26, 1959 – August 5, 2013) was the District Judge of Bethel Park and Upper St. Clair, [1] one of the largest magisterial districts in Pennsylvania. [2] [3] Beginning in 1999, he was elected three times. He announced his candidacy for a seat on the Pennsylvania Superior Court in March 2013, [3] but withdrew a few weeks later. [4]
He was the Allegheny County District Attorney from 1976, when he defeated incumbent John Hickton, [6] until 1998. [7] [8] Colville contemplated a run for the Pennsylvania Supreme Court in 1981. [9] In 1997, he was elected to the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas, and in 2006, he was appointed to the Pennsylvania Superior Court. [10]
In 1995, he was named Chairman of the Allegheny County Board of Viewers. [2] In December 1997, District Attorney Robert E. Colville announced he was leaving the position to become judge on the Court of Common Pleas. Zappala was appointed by the Allegheny County's Common Pleas judges with 22 votes.
