The Grafton Inn is a historic inn at 25 Grafton Common in Grafton, Massachusetts. The three-story wood-and-brick building was built in 1805 by Samuel Wood, with a design influenced by the work of Charles Bulfinch. The building was significantly enlarged c. 1865–75, doubling its size and adding the Italianate front porch.
The Merrell Tavern, known more recently as the Merrell Inn, is a historic tavern at 1565 Pleasant Street (Massachusetts Route 102) in South Lee, Massachusetts.Built in 1794 as a residence, it has served for most of two centuries as a local traveler's accommodation, and retains fine Federal period architectural details.
In the later part of the 19th century the property, then 160 acres (65 ha), was used primarily for agricultural purposes by the Smith family, whose descendants occupied the property until 1997. Now much reduced in size, the property is operated as a bed and breakfast inn, reviving its earlier use as a service to travelers. [2]
Sculpture and pond at Field Farm. Field Farm is a 316-acre (1.28 km 2) nature preserve and farm in Williamstown, Massachusetts, managed by the Trustees of Reservations.There are 4.5 miles (7.2 km) of hiking trails on the reservation, which pass by swamp land, a pond, and the "Caves Lot" which features underground channels that water had cut into the limestone there. The Old Mill Site Historic District in Hatfield, Massachusetts encompasses the site of a late 19th century mill. It is one of only two such sites in the town. The centerpiece of the district is the former Shattuck Gun Factory building (built 1881), which in 1989 housed newspaper offices [2] [3] and in 2006 a bed and breakfast. [4]
