Baabdat (Arabic: بعبدات) is a town located in the Matn District of Mount Lebanon, 22 km from Beirut at an altitude ranging between 600 and 1100 meters above sea level. [1] The lush pine forests that surround the town make it a very popular summer resort for those escaping the busy coastal cities of Lebanon, especially the capital, Beirut.
The inhabitants of the Baabda district are mainly Maronite Catholics, Shi'a Muslims and Druze.As of 2022, the religious make-up of the District's 171,746 voters were roughly 33% Maronite Catholics, 25% Shia, 17% Druze, 8% Greek Orthodox, 7% Sunni, and 10% others. [1]

Btekhnay (Arabic: بتخنيه; also spelled Btekhnai) is a municipality in the Baabda District of Mount Lebanon Governorate, Lebanon. It is located 42 kilometers east of Beirut. There is one public school in the village with 400 students as of 2016. Ten companies with over fifteen employees operate in the village.
