After hosting dirt track races in the 1950s and early 1960s, the course was paved in 1962. At the time the track was just over 1 mile (2 km) in length. In 1968, the track hosted its first 24 hour race, the 24 Hours of Nelson Ledges. At the time it was the only continuous 24-hour motorcycle race in the United States. [3]
Rock Camp Motocross, formerly the Rocky Top Raceway, is a motocross track located in Lawrence County east of Coal Grove, Ohio. Construction started on the track in 2000 and the first race night was held May 22, 2004. In 2012 it was converted from a dirt raceway to a motocross track. [1]

The track had previously been dirt until 1999. [3] The track name was also changed from "Spitzer Motor Speedway" to "Mansfield Motor Speedway" for 2017. [3] With the new dirt surface, Mansfield Motor Speedway hosted series like the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions.
