Dave Boliek (born 1967 or 1968) [1] is an American politician from North Carolina. He is the North Carolina State Auditor.. Boliek earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC) and a Master of Business Administration and Juris Doctor from Campbell University. [1]
Article III, Section 7, of the Constitution of North Carolina stipulates the popular election of the state auditor every four years. [17] Unlike most of the 18 other states with an elected auditor, North Carolina does not require candidates for the office to be Certified Public Accountants. [18] The office holder is not subject to term limits.
The auditor’s office conducts oversight of spending across all levels of government, from executive branch agencies and departments, to local governments at the county and municipal levels.
